The recipes are easy, yummy and low-fodmap! My only complaint about the book is that there aren’t more photographs of the recipes. Any great cookbook has finished-product photos, and while the stock photography in this book is lovely, I’d like to see more pictures of what I’m making.
It was wonderful to feel comfortable, but it has been socially isolating. In this book, dietitian Kate Scarlatina provides re-introduction plans for the various FODMAP food groups that I can follow without having to over-think each meal. I need to reintroduce foods more slowly than she suggests, but I'm having some success... and that's better than none! So I thank you.
The first half is dedicated to explaining the diet and the second half are all recipes. The recipe section is nice because it includes alternatives for certain ingredients if you are able to consume them which you'd find out during the reintroduction phase. The photography is also nice and there were photos for most if not all recipes.
I bought this because I was diagnosed with SIBO and was overwhelmed trying to figure out what I could actually eat. This made it so much easier. There is great information and recipes inside. The blueberry muffins I made were absolutely amazing!
FODMAP is an acronym for certain ingredients that you will want to avoid if you are having some digestion problems. The book outlined some of the most frequently asked questions and the answers to those questions. It includes a list of suitable ingredients and recipes that will fulfill your dietary needs. Overall this is a very informative book.
This cookbook is a life saver! There are tons of recipes and they are easy to follow and make. I've tried other cookbooks that are very labor intensive and I always come back to this one. There is a great variety and my family will eat all the recipes I make which is a huge bonus. If you are new to a Low-FODMAP diet, this is the cookbook for you.
Many of the recipes called for ingredients not normally stocked. Also, the recipes appeared to be written for non-US audience. Temperatures were given in Celsius, not Fahrenheit. Also some phrases used to describe steps in a recipe were not familiar & couldn’t easily be discerned. While the Low-FODMAP information provided may be good (didn’t read), the recipes weren’t practical.
I’m a nutritionist and I loved all the healthy choices this book has. The colorful food picture pulled me in to want to try every recipe. Prescribed !
