I liked the first book in this series a lot. However, now that I am on book three, the whole storyline is beginning to wear me out, and I am losing patience. If you are happily married you will probably get tired of the constant bickering of at least one of these couples. They were introduced in book two. I didn't enjoy their storyline then either. If you are not happily married, I'm not sure that you will enjoy all the constant bickering of this couple either. Unless of course the old saying is true..."misery loves company". It quits being entertaining after a while and begins to be annoying. Also, some of the storylines take way too long to wrap up. They drag on and on with constant summaries of what has already occurred in the books, that most readers are aware of. One reviewer also mentioned that the adults in the book sometimes act like juveniles. I have to agree with that statement. Some of these characters are in their 50s. Their behavior toward and within their relationships are what you might expect from teenagers. You begin to wonder if the author knows ANY marriages that have stood the test of time, as they all seem to have either fallen apart or are falling apart in these books. For the ones who are currently married, it seems it will probably be a matter of time before theirs falls apart also. No way any can make it to the end of this series in tact. I think I have had enough. This one will probably be my last of the series.

This series is very nostalgic and interesting about families who live in this small Washington state town. Zachary Cox, his wife Rosie, and two children, Allison and Eddie, live at 311 Pelican Court. Their marriage has fallen apart and it's the children as well as the parents who suffer. Olivia Lockhart, the town judge, can't keep secrets either. People wonder if she'll stay involved with Jack, who runs the local newspaper, or will she mend things with her ex-husband. Also, at the local bed and breakfast inn, a man has been found dead. Suicide or murder? Local private investigator Roy McAfee, is on the hunt. There are lots of interesting characters in this series and the author has been kind enough to list them all in the beginning of the book. There's lots of cozy moments and romance, along with fast moving events. This is a fun series to get involved in and may make you rethink about moving to a small comfy town. As always, very well written.

I bought this as a Kindle Daily Deal, thinking that since the description said "mystery" in it, that it would, in fact, have a mystery to be solved. While I guess this is technically true (someone turned up dead in an earlier book and law enforcement and others did discover who this person was an how he died during the course - but mostly at the end - of this book), this book is clearly a romance and it is, frankly, disingenuous to make it sound as if it might be anything but that. If you are looking for a romance (especially one that features mostly adolescent behaviors from the adults involved), I'm sure this is a great read. However, if you - like me - were hoping for a cozy mystery, you will be sadly, horribly disappointed.

It was okay, I guess. There were so many different characters thrown at you all at once, way too many to keep track of....at least for me. I normally love Debbie Macombers books and I have read dozens of them, but this one was just way too confusing for me to follow along. Just as you start to figure out one set of characters and what's going on with them, she switches to a whole new set of characters. And from there on the stories just jump back and forth and all over the place, which is the thing I found the most confusing of all.Just because I wasn't thrilled with this book, doesn't mean I won't read her books in the future, because I will. She's a great author, this book just didn't do it for me this time.

I really enjoy classics and historical books but decided to try this series. It is perfect summer fare! Light enough to read over a weekend but with enough interesting characters to keep you intrigued. No, you do not have to start with the first in the series but I highly recommend that you do. The author takes the time to recap each of the carry-over characters for you from book to book but it is so much more fun if you discover every aspect of their personalities on your own. This series is not heavy reading - perfect for a vacation take-along or beach book. You will fly through the pages and be on to the next in the series in no time. They just get more and more interesting! So, all in all - for light fluffy reading with just enough substance I highly recommend the Cedar Cove series.

This is the third in this series that I have read, and I am seeing where the story line is different than what the TV series was. Although this book is somewhat enjoyable, and I do like hearing about what is happening in the characters' lives, I thought these books would be better than they are. I have found that most of the time a book is better than the movie or TV program that they've made it into, but that doesn't seem to be the case with these books. But I will read Book number 4 to see if this series can hold my interest or not.
