If you like weak women and abusive men then you’ll like this series. Mind you the physical and mental abuse is extreme and sickening but the sex is sometimes good so the female main character is going to forgive all and fall in love. Forgive being kidnapped, starved, beaten and raped. What is that in the face of good sex, right? I started out liking Lily. But I’m not sure I do now. Stonehart is the typical abusive man. He isolates her and makes her completely dependent on him and his whims. I really thought this book would be different. But it’s the same old thing. If I were to read on (I haven’t decided yet) it would be because I am curious what the connection is between Lily and Stonehart. That’s why I gave books 1-4 two stars.
It started as an intriguing plot, but then fell off the cliff. I understand the appeal of rough, kinky sex stories, and own several books that contains it, but I will not continue this series.Ususally in this genre of books, the male character has some redeeming quality to keep me interested in reading on, but I really struggled to find it here.His mood swings were so 180 and extreme that he drove me nuts. One scene was flat out rape. There was nothing arrousing about the scene. I couldn’t see anything that could redeem him enough to get past it. I finished this three book set, in hopes it would pick up, but it never did. I was really intrigued by the premise, but totally disappointed it turned out the way it did. I would not recommend the series.
I'm reading the last book in the series now. This story has more twist, turns and detours than any series I've read yet.It's pretty dark so if that's not your thing pass on by.If you'd like a steamy, hot, white knuckle ride this is your book.Could not put it down.
I normally don't do reviews, but this box set had me grinding my teeth! I need the rest of the books asap! Gives you little morsels and then cruelly rips away leaving you ravenous for the next stories.
I don’t like how vile and demeaning to women this book is. Definitely not what I thought I’d be reading!!!
These books were disturbing and very dark, I read them all even with a I guess happy ending, it still disturbs meDo not no how to rate this series
Good story line. The hero you love to hate. The heroine you sometimes want to smack..
