I have really enjoyed reading the Sheikhs of Al-Dashalid series. "The Sheikh's fierce Fiancee" was an exciting read. I loved Mackenzie. Glad to read about an extremely smart attorney working for the rights of the innocent and abused. Sheikh Issam is an intense protector of his family and his nation. Mackenzie was made for him and he for her. Loved the people of Al-Dashalid. Linda
Issam’s brother Kyril called him up to ask if he would go to the mosque and pick up his 5-year-old child Inan from his class. Although Issam was busy as well, his brother was even busier meeting with the Canadian ambassador in thirty minutes and did not have time to go himself. As he sat in his car, Issam pulled out his phone. Like his brothers, the males needed to be married by the age of thirty to keep their positions in the royal family. He wasn’t willing to settle for anyone, so he gathered a dossier on potential wives who met his criteria. He wanted a calm woman, but no love involved – he had responsibilities and wanted no distractions.Inan walked out of the mosque just as a car ran the light, heading for a woman who tried to drive out of his way. Traffic was so thick that she had nowhere to move and headed right toward the mosque and Inan! She swerved to avoid all the children but hit part of the mosque. Issam saw it was about to collapse and ran to her to get her out of the car and grab Inan before they were crushed under the rubble. As a crowd congratulated him on the rescue, she recognized Sheikh Issam, the man she had come here to meet! She tried to talk to him, but things were still hectic. A man from the mosque approached them and told Issam that Ms. Peters, according to the ancient religious laws, must be put to death for damaging the mosque! Switching to their language, she told the man that those laws were bound by the nature of human life; the stone can be rebuilt, but the children would have died if she had not swerved into the column. She was sure he would relent – but he didn’t.Bahir told Issam that Ms. Peters was an American that President Mulazim of Al-Madiza had sent to them as his representative for diplomatic negotiations. This would be a PR nightmare if they executed her! The law was real, but it had not been carried out for hundreds of years. Their legal team was researching their options. Issam went to watch Inan’s football game with Kyril and Hannah. He talked to Kyril about the only way to save Mackenzie – by marrying her. They would gain political and military advantages, and it would save her life because death sentences would not apply to members of the royal family. It would also solve his marriage requirement. He saw it as a business arrangement and nothing more, despite Kyril’s warning that she would have full royal rights and may not be as grateful as Issam imagines. It will take compromise and he should be aware of what she might want in return.Issam had Mackenzie brought to him and told her the only way out was through marriage. She shocked him by being overjoyed at the news! He didn’t know she was a lawyer and had already come to that same conclusion. He had expected to do more convincing. They met with the imam at the mosque and they had 30 days to marry. She thanked Issam for saving her. Not only that, but she was getting exactly what she wanted: access and influence in the land dispute, and the power to do something about it. Issam’s imagined easy victory was about to cause a major upheaval in his life! How would he be able to manage his soon-to-be wife? This was a fun story that I thoroughly enjoyed. As with all of this author’s books, it was well-written with a great story line and wonderful characters. Grab your copy – the fun is about to start!

All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given!Until next time... Happy Reading!
This is the third book of the Sheikhs of Al-Dashalid series, and while having read the other two can enhance the reading experience, this is a complete stand alone book. This book is about Sheikh Issam who has a run in with Mackenzie, who is in Al-Dashalid on a diplomatic business. When an unfortunate incident forces Issam's hand, he and Mackenzie decide to marry in order to save her life. While they go through two parallel journeys - the diplomatic mission that brought them together, and the planning of their grand Al-Dashalid wedding, Issam and Mackenzie learn about each other, and how their personalities match and contrast. Mackenzie has a super strong personality and knows what she wants and stops at nothing to get it, while Issam needs to learn that he is not always the head of every situation and that his wife to be does offer solutions that can help him excel at his job while protecting his family and country.I did enjoy this book, and hope that the author writes a story about the Sheikh's sister - as she seems like a very interesting and strong willed female character.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a quick easy read. There is plenty of political drama, instalust and a marriage of convenience. MacKenzie is an intellectual powerhouse of an attorney. She has beauty, brains and heart. She is steadfastly devoted to the cause of rescuing a women and children shelter. She tried to intercede on the shelter's behalf only to be rejected by one country and dismissed by the other country. She never gave up. Sheikh Issam is head of security for the royal family and the country of Al-Dashalid. He is too intense and takes his job responsibilities without question. But even he is only human. He rescues MacKenzie from the death penalty and she rescues him from being ousted by the royal family by marrying him before his thirtieth birthday. With war looming between three adjacent countries over a strip of land used by the women's shelter, MacKenzie hopes to make an impact on their behalf. Issam does not listen to her and she leaves him knowing the threat of death is still upon her. An unusual romance. This is very entertaining and a good read.
